Consistency is key! Placing the sensor in different locations each time can lead to inaccurate comparisons and misleading data. Always mount the sensor at the same point and orientation to ensure consistent readings.

#2 Improper Sensor Mounting
Loose or poorly mounted sensors can result in noise and inaccurate data. Ensure the sensor is tightly secured to the machine, ideally using a stud mount or magnetic base, depending on your equipment.

#3 Skipping Calibration Checks
Sensor calibration drift can happen over time, leading to incorrect data. Make sure you regularly check and calibrate your equipment to avoid collecting faulty data that could lead to wrong conclusions

#4 Ignoring Environmental Factors

Temperature, humidity, and external vibrations from nearby machinery can skew vibration data. Take steps to mitigate these influences or record them in your data notes to account for environmental variables

#5 Inadequate Sampling Rate

If your sampling rate is too low, you might miss critical frequency components. Ensure your data collection system is set to a rate high enough to capture the full spectrum of potential faults, particularly for high-speed machinery.
